ROTARY EGYPT PARTNERS WITH THE ABA SUPPORTED BY THE MOSS TO INVEST IN HUMAN RESOURCES ACROSS EGYPT

On Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, District 2451 – Rotary Egypt, led by DG Dr. Emad Abdel Wahab, signed a cooperation protocol with the Alexandria Business Association, headed by Eng. Mohamed Hanno, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Nevine El-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity. The protocol was signed between the District Rotary Community Corps (RCC) Committee of Rotary Egypt chaired by PP Heba Kabel and the ABA, to finance micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, stemming from a deep-rooted belief in the necessity to contribute towards the provision of a decent quality of life for economically challenged communities across the country, by empowering the female workforce and single income families, through revolving loans to finance various projects. The protocol targets single-income families, through the associations with which the Rotary Clubs across Egypt cooperate. The Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Nevine El-Kabbaj, welcomed the initiative, stating in her speech at the signing ceremony, that the “Rotary spirit has a heart that loves, it has a beautiful intellect, and a message of determination and persistence”; reaffirming that the management approach to development, should be forward and progressive. H.E. El-Kabbaj reflected that leading development with a social responsibility approach has proved successful, and vice-versa, that development was lost when it was managed through the conceptualization of charity and absolute benevolence. She further explained that doing good is divided into short- and long-term planning; with the latter having more impact and definitive sustainability. In ending, she reaffirmed that for good to sustain, we need to remain resolute in investing in our most valuable resource, the human being.
